The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) underwent an adjustment of approximately 9% this Thursday, the 1st, according to information provided by the Gas Retailers' Union (Sindrevgás).
With this new adjustment, the average cost of the cylinder could increase by around R$ 7 to R$ 8 for the end consumer. The increase was implemented by Acelen, which is responsible for the Mataripe Refinery.
The price per ton of the product rose from R$ 3,643.40 to R$ 3,971.60. According to a survey conducted by TV Bahia, the final price of the gas could reach R$ 170 in the city of Salvador, although the price at retailers may change depending on each point of sale and logistical and commercial costs.
Acelen, the company managing the Mataripe Refinery, issued a statement confirming the update of the LPG price intended for distributors operating in the Bahian market. The company clarified that the prices practiced at the refinery are defined by market parameters, taking into account elements such as the international cost of oil, currency fluctuations, and transportation costs.
Additionally, Acelen informed that such values are subject to upward and downward variations, maintaining a pricing policy based on technical criteria and current international practices in the sector.
