Trans-Caspian Corridor Considered a Reliable Route for Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan and the European Union held discussions on cooperation in the transport sector, during which the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TTC) was noted as a stable and reliable route connecting Uzbekistan with European markets.

The Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, Ilhom Makhamov, met with Petris Ustubs, Director for Asia and the Pacific at the Directorate-General for International Partnerships of the European Commission.

This meeting took place the day before the second National Conference on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, which is being held in Uzbekistan as part of the TTC Coordination Platform.

The parties discussed opportunities for interaction between Uzbekistan and the European Union in the transport sector, paying special attention to stimulating investments and conducting reforms along the TTC route. The development of more long-term and sustainable trade ties between Uzbekistan and the European Union was also discussed.

During the meeting, the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor was presented as a stable and reliable transport route that contributes to strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and European markets.
