iPhone 18 Pro Max surpasses Galaxy S26 Ultra in speed test conducted by PhoneBuff

In a speed test conducted by the PhoneBuff channel, the iPhone 18 Pro Max demonstrated superiority over the Galaxy S26 Ultra in the first phase, finishing the round with a ten-second advantage.

The comparison involved various types of tasks, including photography, video recording, gaming, and text recognition. After the first sequence of tests, both smartphones were subjected to continuous 4K video recording for a period of ten minutes, and the tests were repeated.

Initially, the performance of the two devices was quite similar, with the lead fluctuating during games; the iPhone gained a small advantage at one point, but the Galaxy quickly regained the leading position.

The most notable difference occurred during the use of Adobe Acrobat, where both had to recognize the text from a 25-page PDF document. The iPhone completed this activity faster, allowing it to consolidate the ten-second advantage observed at the end of the first round.

This current performance shows an improvement compared to a previous test conducted with the iPhone 17 Pro Max, in which the Apple device took thirty seconds longer than the Galaxy to finish the first round using similar applications.

In the most recent test, the iPhone 18 Pro Max completed the entire sequence in just over four minutes, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra took about twelve seconds longer to finish the circuit.

After completing the first battery of tasks, the devices underwent continuous 4K video recording for ten minutes and were evaluated again. The iPhone 18 Pro Max showed an almost negligible drop in performance compared to the previous stage, maintaining a practically constant pace even after the long recording.

Consequently, the advantage established in the first round was not lost in the sequence of the comparison. The final result of the complete test pointed to an approximate difference of twelve seconds, with the Galaxy S26 Ultra finishing after the Apple device.
