Temporary registration has been granted in Russia for the 'Allergard' vaccine, intended for treating allergies caused by birch pollen, as well as for treating cross-food allergies.
According to a message published on the Federal Medical and Biological Agency portal, this authorization allows the drug to be used in medical institutions. The treatment course includes five subcutaneous injections.
According to the agency's information, study results showed that one quarter of patients who underwent treatment did not show signs of allergy during the birch blooming season. In the remaining participants, the severity of symptoms was significantly reduced.
Furthermore, it was established that all subjects developed protective immunoglobulin G, replacing immunoglobulin E, which traditionally causes allergic reactions.
