In South Carolina, mother beat two children after granddaughter called about hunger

Authorities in South Carolina, USA, discovered that the mother had slashed two children after one of them called their grandmother to report hunger.

On Saturday, September 26, one of the children, who was 6 years old, contacted their grandmother to say that he and his sister, who was 3 years old, were home alone and hungry.

The grandmother contacted a friend, and they went together to the house in Spartanburg County, where the children were found injured with signs of stab wounds.

Investigators determined that the children received approximately 50 blows in total, including injuries that penetrated to the bone. Both girls were first taken to the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and then transferred to Prisma Health Children's Hospital in Greenville, where they remain hospitalized and require further surgery.

When the police arrived at the scene, it was revealed that before the attack on the children, they had also been hit with a baseball bat. The woman returned home when authorities arrived, after which she was detained and taken to the hospital for evaluation due to her unstable mental state.

The children's mother, Taylor Gosnell, 35, was arrested and charged with attempted murder for attacking the two children. The children have been placed under the care of authorities and remain in the hospital. Authorities are investigating the incident, and the mother remains in custody without the possibility of release in exchange for compensation.
