Alireza Abdavali wins Iran's twelfth gold medal at Asian Games-2026

Iranian weightlifter Ali Davoudi won the gold medal in the men's +110 kg weight division at the 2026 Asian Games held in Nagoya. He secured the gold medal on Tuesday.

Davoudi lifted 206 kg in the snatch and 260 kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a total of 466 kg, which allowed him to take first place on the podium.

The silver medal was won by Ali Ammar Yusur Roubayavi from Iraq, with a total result of 465 kg. His results were 219 kg in the snatch and 246 kg in the clean and jerk.

The bronze award went to Gor Minassian from Bahrain, who lifted a total of 440 kg, demonstrating 205 kg in the snatch and 235 kg in the clean and jerk.

Earlier, Ali Alipour had already won gold in the men's 95 kg category. Davoudi's victory increased Iran's total number of gold medals at these Games to ten.

The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported that Uzbek boxer Fazliddin Erkinbayev won a bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya in the men's up to 80 kg weight category.

In the semi-finals, Erkinbayev faced Indian athlete Ankush but was defeated. Following this performance, the Uzbek boxer was able to secure a bronze award at the Asian Games.

Iranian Kurash athlete Ramin Ahmadzadeh won a silver medal at the 2026 Asian Games, which took place on Monday in Tehran.

In the final match in the Men's -81 kg category, Ahmadzadeh lost to Uzbek athlete Akhror Ziyodullaev with a score of 3:0.

Two bronze medals were awarded to Adilet Akhmetgali from Kazakhstan and Ken Oyoshi from Japan.

The Kurash competitions at the 2026 Asian Games are being held from September 27 to 29 at Aichi Budokan.
