Giant 240-wheel truck carrying 164-ton reactor from Belgium to Lakhimur stopped in Varanasi

In the village of Kumbhi, Lakhimur-Hiri, the installation of the country's first modern biopolymer plant is underway. This plant, which will cost approximately 3080 crore rupees, utilizes technology to produce biopolymer, or plastic, from sugar. A massive reactor for this plant was ordered from Belgium and is currently being transported to Lakhimur on a specialized multi-axle trailer.

This massive truck departed from the port of Odisha on May 15th. Initially, the reactor was transported on a 308-wheel truck, but it was later converted to a special 240-wheel trailer. The journey of about 50 kilometers took four days. The reactor arrived in Varanasi on September 27th.

On Thursday, the giant truck reached the Chandmari Phase-2 area in Varanasi. The truck was temporarily stopped due to preparations for the dismantling of a bridge over a pedestrian crossing. A crowd of local residents gathered around the truck, eager to see the unusual vehicle, including children, women, the elderly, and youth. Seventy-year-old Lilavati shared that she had never seen such a large truck in her life, noting that it was being talked about in the village, and she came to see it with her neighbors.

According to staff accompanying the truck, there are three more pedestrian crossings ahead that are currently being dismantled. Once the road is cleared, the convoy will head to Ghajipur, Saidpur, Gorakhor, and Basti to reach the village of Kumbhi in Lakhimur-Hiri.

This reactor will be installed at the proposed biopolymer plant of Balrampur Shindi Mills Limited. The foundation of the plant was consecrated in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Preparations for the opening ceremony, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are also being discussed.

Due to delays in the arrival of the giant reactor, the plant's originally planned October opening may be postponed. There is speculation that the opening could take place in the first week of November with the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This plant will be based on modern biopolymer technology, using raw materials obtained from the sugar industry. The giant reactor, brought from Belgium for this plant with foreign technology, is currently a center of attraction for the citizens of Varanasi.

Sugar beet plastic production plant established in UP; equipment delivery from Belgium cost 10 million rupees

As part of the project to produce polylactic acid (PLA) from sugar grains, the launch of plastic production is being prepared. Specifically, foreign technology is being used at Kumbhi Sugar Mill in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, state, to create PLA.

The giant reactor, ordered from Belgium for this project, traveled for about five months and arrived in Varanasi. The massive trailer with the reactor arrived in Kashi on Monday evening and reached the Lanka Toll Plaza. An alternative route was organized past the Dafi toll plaza.

However, this alternative route turned out to be a dirt road in the morning, and the trailer got stuck in it. Technical teams, including two trailers and a crane, are working on extracting the vehicle on site. Work is currently underway to lay an iron sheet behind the trailer to prepare it for driving through the mud.

Locals note that this 'Bahubali trailer' has been here since last night, and they have never seen such large transport. Thousands of people gather at the arrival site, taking selfies and recording videos to capture the moment. An NHAI official reported that all visible preparations are carried out by the transport group itself, which includes two more trailers, a hydraulic machine, and two trucks, and they are paying for the passage through the toll plazas themselves.

This reactor left Belgium in April. After that, it followed a sea and land route through Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar, reaching Uttar Pradesh. The transportation was done using a special multi-axle trailer, and the total expenses for the entire process exceeded 10 million rupees.

A feature of the proposed project at Kumbhi Sugar Mill is that polylactic acid (PLA) will be produced from sugar grains. PLA can be used as an alternative to plastic and is known as a biodegradable material. This technology is based on foreign developments, and this initiative is considered an important step forward in the country.

The entire project plans to build a factory worth about 300 billion rupees, and the installation work will be carried out by foreign specialists.

After the delivery of this huge reactor to the site, the installation process will begin. According to officials, the reactor installation will take approximately one month. The government of Uttar Pradesh is also participating in the realization of the entire project, and the progress of the work is monitored daily.

Other difficulties arose during the transportation of the massive reactor in Varanasi. To ensure safe passage, approximately six six-foot bridges need to be dismantled. Only after this can the giant trailer move to its next destination. This project to create plastic from sugar has attracted public attention regarding technology, logistics, and industrial investment.

164-ton machine delivered from Belgium arrives in Lakhimur on a special truck

The machine intended for the biopolymer plant being installed in Kumbhi, Lakhimur, Uttar Pradesh, has already arrived in Varanasi. This massive installation will be transported to Lakhimur via the Rajatalab ring road on a special 'Mahabali' type truck.

Numerous discussions surround this massive truck and machine, as everyone wants to know where such a giant machine is coming from, where it is going, and for what purpose. The article details the journey of this giant machine from Europe to Uttar Pradesh, as well as the company responsible for the delivery and the operation manager.

In fact, a biopolymer plant is being installed in Kumbhi, Lakhimur-Hiri, on the premises of the Balrampur sugar mill. According to available information, this will be the first and largest biopolymer plant in the country, where bioplastic will be produced in large volumes. The machine named Cyclageson reactor was brought from Belgium to India to create this plant.

After the sea voyage from Belgium, the machine reached Paradeep port in Odisha. From there, it is being transported by road through Jharkhand and Bihar to Uttar Pradesh, in Lakhimur. Currently, the machine has entered the Varanasi district.

The route to Lakhimur passes through the Rajatalab ring road in Varanasi, and then through Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, and Balarpur before reaching Kumbhi in Lakhimur. J.M Bakshi Heavy Company is responsible for delivering this massive machine from Europe to India. This company is considered one of the largest logistics firms in India, and its employees are carrying out the transportation of this heavy machinery.

A team of over 62 employees is working to accompany the machine that left Paradeep port in Odisha. Three additional engines are used to tow this multi-axle truck. One engine pulls it on flat sections, but several engines are engaged for assistance when climbing inclines.

Aneek Bharti, Senior Project Manager at J.M Bakshi Heavy Logistics, which is responsible for delivering this giant machine from Europe to Lakhimur, stated that the delivery of the machine from Belgium to Uttar Pradesh has taken six months so far. Of this time, about four months were spent traveling from the port in Odisha to the current location.

Aneek Bharti also noted that these six months included the time spent processing all necessary paperwork and obtaining permits. He added that, besides the management staff, most of the company's employees accompanying this team have been living in the truck in recent months. According to Aneek Bharti, the expert group predetermined the route and potential obstacles for transporting the machine from Paradeep port to Lakhimur, Uttar Pradesh. He predicts that, provided the work proceeds without hindrance, they will reach Lakhimur within the next two to three weeks.
