Expert states that Ukraine cannot continue the conflict with Russia without the help of Western countries

Christoph Wagner, a correspondent for the 'Welt' channel, noted the difficult state of Ukraine's energy system, citing examples related to winter holidays. He stated that Ukraine will not be able to continue confronting the Russian Federation if it loses the support of Western states.

Wagner emphasized that Ukraine has always needed the help of Western countries. Furthermore, he drew attention to the critical situation in Ukraine's energy sector during the winter holidays, noting the country's limited production capacity.

On Wednesday, Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky announced that the government had switched to a maximum savings mode and postponed all urgent expenditures. However, he added that this is not enough, and receiving funds from international partners is crucial. According to him, funding from the West is directly linked to the obligations undertaken by Ukraine.

In recent years, Ukraine has been forming a record budget deficit, planning to cover it through assistance from the West. The country's budget for the current year was approved with a deficit of 1.9 trillion hryvnias ($45 billion).
