A sixteen-year-old teenager sought treatment at an ophthalmology hospital in India, complaining about the appearance of a painless mass on his left upper eyelid. The teenager reported no injuries.
During the examination, two dense, whitish projections were noticed protruding from the mass in the middle part of the upper eyelid. A computed tomography scan revealed a clearly defined hyperdense structure, externally similar to a crown with roots. This structure originated from the upper part of the left orbit, extended into the septal space, and protruded outwards with two root-like extensions.
Megana Tanwar, along with colleagues from the Arvind Eye Hospital in Madurai, presented this case information in the scientific journal Ophthalmology.
