Tashkent State Medical University has been included for the first time in the prestigious international ranking 'World University Rankings-2027', published by the authoritative international rating agency Times Higher Education (THE).
The university received recognition among global universities, securing a position of 2001+ in this ranking.
The Shanghai Ranking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) conducted an evaluation of Iranian educational institutions across 33 out of 57 available academic fields. These fields include Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences.
ShanghaiRanking first presented a global ranking of universities by academic discipline in 2009, and in 2016, it was officially renamed the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). The system is based on nine objective indicators grouped into five categories: Faculty of World Class, World-Class Research Outcomes, High-Quality Research, Research Impact, and International Collaboration.
Annually, GRAS publishes data for approximately 20,000 subject units from about 2,000 universities in around 100 countries and regions. Iranian universities demonstrated higher results in the fields of Engineering and Medical Sciences, covering 70 and 24 disciplines, respectively.
In Mathematics, Iran University of Science and Technology leads, holding positions 201-300 in the global ranking. Amirkabir University of Technology, Shahid Madani Azarbaijan University, and Ferdowsi University of Mashhad rank second in this category, occupying positions 301-400.
University of Tehran has a global ranking of 151-200 in Geography and 301-400 in Atmospheric Science. Iran University of Science and Technology of Mazandaran is the only Iranian university included in the Physics subject rankings, with a global ranking of 401-500.
Four institutions participated in Mathematical Engineering: Iran International Quran University and Shiraz University (both ranked 201-300), as well as Sharif University of Technology and University of Tehran, which jointly occupied positions 301-400.
In Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the top three are Sharif University of Technology (201-300), Shiraz University (301-400), and University of Tehran (401-500). University of Tehran ranks 151-200 in Automation and Control, while Sharif University of Technology ranks 201-300 in Telecommunication Engineering.
In Instrumentation and Technology Sciences, Sharif University of Technology, Shiraz University of Technology, and University of Tehran are in the top group (101-150). Iran University of Science and Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, Shiraz University, and Tabriz University rank 201-300, while Amirkabir University of Technology and K.N. Tusi University of Technology are in the 301-400 group.
In Computer Science and Engineering, Sharif University of Technology and University of Tehran rank 401-500. Regarding Civil Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology ranks first with a global ranking of 51-75. Amirkabir University of Technology and University of Tehran are in the 101-150 group, while Sharif University of Technology and Tarbiat Modares University rank 201-300.
In Chemical Engineering, Tarbiat Modares University and University of Tehran lead (201-300). Iran University of Science and Technology and Tabriz University rank 301-400. Amirkabir University of Technology and Sharif University of Technology are in the 401-500 group.
In Materials Science and Engineering, University of Tehran ranks 401-500. In Energy Science and Engineering, Isfahan University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology, Tabriz University, and University of Tehran are in the 201-300 group, and Tarbiat Modares University is 301-400.
In Environmental Science and Engineering, University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, and Tehran University of Medical Sciences rank 201-300, 301-400, and 401-500, respectively.
In Water Resources, University of Tehran ranks 49th globally, followed by Tabriz University (101-150), Tarbiat Modares University (151-200), and Shiraz University (201-300).
In Food Science, Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources ranks 76-100. Tabriz University of Medicine and University of Tehran rank second (151-200). Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Shahid Beheshti University of Medicine, Shiraz University, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tabriz University, and Urmia University are in the 201-300 group. Isfahan University of Medicine and Shiraz University of Medicine rank 301-400.
University of Tehran ranks 151-200 in Remote Sensing, 201-300 in Artificial Intelligence, and 301-400 in Biotechnology.
In Mining and Mineral Engineering, Amirkabir University of Technology (51-75) and University of Tehran (76-100) are the leaders. In Metallurgical Engineering, University of Tehran ranks first (101-150). Iran University of Science and Technology is in the 151-200 group. Amirkabir University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, and Sharif University of Technology are in the 201-300 group.
In Human Biological Sciences, Tehran University of Medical Sciences (151-200) and Shiraz University of Medicine (301-400) lead.
In Agricultural Sciences, Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources ranks first globally with 101-150. University of Tehran (151-200) and Tarbiat Modares University rank second and third. Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Shiraz University, and Urmia University (with global rankings 401-500) rank fourth.
Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources and University of Tehran are in the 201-300 group in Veterinary Sciences.
In Clinical Medicine, Iran University of Medical Sciences and Tehran University of Medical Sciences lead (201-300). Baghiyatalleh University of Medical Sciences and Isfahan University of Medical Sciences rank 301-400.
