Aurobindo Pharma's subsidiary, Acrotech, enters US dermatology market with launch of Adquey

Aurobindo Pharma's subsidiary, Acrotech Biopharma, announced the launch of the ointment Adquey in the US market, thereby entering the American dermatology market. In connection with this launch and plans to expand this therapeutic segment, the company has created a specialized dermatology division.

According to regulatory documentation, the drug is a non-steroidal topical agent intended for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis in adult patients, as well as in children over two years old. Aurobindo Pharma reported that the original drug was developed by Otsuka Pharmaceutical and subsequently licensed to Acrotech Biopharma for commercialization in the United States.

This product is expected to compete in a market valued at approximately $1.3 billion USD for the 12 months ending in July 2026, according to IQVIA MAT. Ashish Anvekar, President of Acrotech Biopharma, noted that the launch of Adquey represents a significant achievement for Acrotech and marks the beginning of entry into the US dermatology market with a differentiated treatment option.

Acrotech Biopharma operates as a subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd and was established as a global platform for the commercialization of innovative patented pharmaceuticals.

French Biotech Company AbTx Raises €1.7 Million in Seed Funding to Develop Miniature Antibodies Against Cancer

AbTx, a new player in the French biotech market, has successfully raised €1.7 million (equivalent to approximately $2 million) in a new round of seed funding.

The company, founded in 2024, focuses its activities on creating highly precise treatments for solid tumors that have previously proven resistant to standard medical protocols.

The funds raised will be directed towards the clinical development of the patented Therano-Stick platform. The team utilizes enzymatic bioconjugation to create miniaturized antibody-drug conjugates, or 'FDCs.'

The developers consider this specific manufacturing process their unique advantage, which distinguishes their technology from the competitive biotechnology sector.

Alongside securing funding, AbTx received the prestigious i-Lab award, drawing industry attention to its oncology platform. Even with a relatively modest amount of seed capital, the team now has sufficient resources to test its fragment drug conjugates in the highly competitive antibody market.
