The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, reviewed the project for creating the first national vehicle under the DOST brand, which was presented by ADM Global.
The presentation took place during the president's visit to the University of New Uzbekistan, as part of events dedicated to Teachers' and Mentors' Day. During his visit, the president inspected the ADM technical laboratory, where students collaborate with engineers from the ADM automobile plant in Jizzakhstan to develop this vehicle.
The creation of its own automotive brand is viewed as the next stage in the development of Uzbekistan's automotive industry and the strengthening of its domestic engineering capabilities. The project aims to reduce dependence on external restrictions, expand the use of proprietary technical solutions, and increase independence in product development.
The ADM automobile plant in Jizzakhstan is the country's first private multi-brand automobile factory. It is expected that the experience of this enterprise in producing vehicles under international brands and its existing production capacity will support the development and future production of vehicles under its own brand.
Currently, ADM is working on developing the concept for the future model and preparing the production site. Initially, DOST will be introduced in the light commercial vehicle segment. This will allow the company to assess demand for the national brand, improve marketing and product solutions, and prepare for the launch of a passenger car. ADM plans to present the first prototype of the DOST passenger car early next year.
Another important aspect of the project is the development of engineering expertise. ADM Global systematically invests in training specialists for Uzbekistan's automotive industry. With the support of the holding, an engineering ecosystem is being formed at the University of New Uzbekistan, combining education, research and development (R&D), and production.
The educational model is based on the standards of leading global automakers and combines fundamental training with the execution of real engineering tasks. Students apply their acquired knowledge in practice, working alongside ADM engineers on the development of the national car.
