La Città in Balneário Camboriú is confused with a Ferrari development, but only has a connection to Pininfarina design

The La Città development, located in Balneário Camboriú (SC), has been featured in various reports under the moniker 'Ferrari apartment,' even being compared to a lower-priced vehicle from the brand. However, this association is limited to the financial aspect, as the building, constructed by the developer GT Home, was designed by the Italian studio Pininfarina, which designed approximately one hundred Ferrari models between 1950 and 2010, without having any direct link to the Maranello manufacturer.

With an estimated Gross Sales Value (GSV) of R$ 500 million, La Città represents the third project resulting from the collaboration between GT Home and Pininfarina in the city. It follows Yachthouse, whose tallest tower reaches 294 meters and is the largest residential building in Latin America, and Vitra, with a height of 220 meters. According to the developer, the new tower will have 52 floors and a height of 168 meters, featuring a mirrored facade and curved lines inspired by automotive design.

Available units range from 139 m² to 286.59 m², offering up to four suites and six parking spaces. The leisure area totals 4,600 m² and includes swimming pools, saunas, gyms, a Pilates studio, as well as multi-sport and padel courts. GT Home plans to complete 70% of the works by December and anticipates key handover by the end of 2027.

This development fits into the global trend of so-called branded residences, where buildings adopt the name and style of luxury brands. Porsche pioneered this segment in 2017 with the Porsche Design Tower in Miami, notable for its elevators that transport cars directly to the apartments. Subsequently, the Aston Martin and Bentley towers appeared in the same location, along with Bugatti and Mercedes-Benz residences in Dubai. Mercedes-Benz also has a second building planned for Miami in 2028.

Balneário Camboriú has also joined this luxury circuit. The city is developing the Tonino Lamborghini Residences, which requires buyer caution, as Tonino Lamborghini is a lifestyle line created by Ferruccio Lamborghini's son and does not belong to the supercar manufacturer.

The comparison used in the promotion associates the average cost of the units, set at R$ 3 million, with the price of the most accessible Ferrari in the country. This model is the Amalfi, launched in May by the official importer Via Itália, equipped with a 3.9L V8 biturbo engine of 640 hp and 77.5 kgfm, costing R$ 3.7 million, potentially reaching R$ 4.3 million with options. Thus, in the entry version, the property offers a R$ 700,000 advantage over the car.

However, the connection with Ferrari is historical. The Italian brand established its own design center in 2010, and the F12berlinetta model, launched in 2012, was the last series car designed by Pininfarina. Since 2015, the studio has belonged to the Indian group Mahindra and uses its name in various projects, ranging from trains to watches and buildings.
