Fergana intends to establish a specialized technopark, FSTU Aeroinjinering, which will focus on developing technologies for using agricultural drones in agriculture.
This technopark will be involved in the production and maintenance of unmanned aerial vehicles, operator training, and providing services to agricultural producers.
The project is being implemented in collaboration with a Chinese investor based on Hongsheng Texnologik Rivojlantirish. A one-hectare plot has been allocated for the technopark in the Eco Shahar industrial zone.
The project will cover the full cycle of operations involving agricultural drones and their components. The company will be able to import, manufacture, and assemble such devices in Uzbekistan, as well as handle their sale, storage, technical maintenance, and repair.
Another area of activity will be specialist training. The technopark will conduct training for agricultural drone operators, offer advanced education, and carry out certification.
It is expected that the unmanned aerial vehicles will be used directly in agrarian work. Specifically, they will be used for monitoring crops, assessing the condition of agricultural lands, spraying fertilizers and plant protection products, as well as performing other tasks in the field of agriculture.
Safety requirements have been established for operating agricultural drones: the devices must not fly higher than 30 meters, and only certified operators may control them.
The technopark's infrastructure will include testing grounds and laboratories, research and development centers, as well as training sites for operators, and logistics and service facilities.
The Ministry of Agriculture has been instructed, together with other state agencies, to prepare regulatory requirements governing the production, registration, and certification of agricultural drones. Rules for operator training and conditions for the safe use of unmanned aerial vehicles in agriculture must also be developed.
