According to a statement issued by Microsoft itself, this change means that all images stored in this digital service will no longer appear in the native Samsung gallery.
To avoid losing photos and videos on the Galaxy phone, users are instructed to manually download these media files to the gallery by the end of the day. Although all material previously synchronized with OneDrive will remain accessible in Microsoft's cloud, it will be essential to use the official OneDrive application to view it.
Samsung smartphones will not lose backup functionality in the native gallery. Starting tomorrow, October 1, there is an expectation that Google Photos service will take the place of OneDrive and be integrated into the gallery. Samsung has also confirmed a collaboration focused on AI televisions, which reinforces this possibility.
Those who use OneDrive, which is part of the Microsoft 365 package, still have the option to continue backing up photos, but this will require installing the specific application for this purpose, available on the Google Play Store. It is essential to activate the camera backup function to ensure that photos taken with the device are automatically sent to the cloud.
If the user was surprised by the absence of the photos, it is likely that they are no longer visible in the gallery. However, the positive information is that they have not been deleted, but rather removed from the Samsung application. To access them, simply use the Microsoft OneDrive application on the phone.
