Passengers now have the option to pre-fill the passenger customs declaration in Uzbekistan through the official portal my.gov.uz or via the MyGov application. This allows them to prepare the necessary document before arriving at the border and present it to the customs service officer in electronic format.
Using this service, one can declare various items being imported into Uzbekistan for personal use, including mobile phones, jewelry, and foreign currency. The form can be completed before crossing the border, and the resulting electronic document can be saved directly on a mobile device.
Declaration is mandatory if the amount or quantity of imported goods exceeds the established limits for duty-free import. Such goods include mobile phones, household appliances, electronics, jewelry, cash, certain types of medicines, as well as items subject to special control, such as weapons, drones, radio-electronic equipment, and historical and cultural valuables.
There are set limits for the duty-free import of goods for personal use: when using air transport, goods worth up to one thousand dollars are permitted; for rail or river transport, up to five hundred dollars; and when entering by private car or on foot, up to three hundred dollars. Exceeding these limits entails payment of customs duties according to the established procedure.
Special rules apply to certain categories of goods. For example, importing gold jewelry up to 65 grams and silver up to 200 grams does not require submitting a declaration. Regarding household appliances and electronics, a limit of one unit of each item is set.
Previously, the country launched a customs control system that automates the comparison of export declarations from other countries with import declaration data. If the system detects discrepancies, it generates a risk signal requiring additional verification or a customs audit.
