After a period of waiting, Samsung has made the One UI 9 update, based on Android 17, available for the Galaxy S26 model sold in Brazil. The arrival of this new feature generated great enthusiasm among social media users, who expressed dissatisfaction due to the delay in the South Korean giant implementing the update.
Users can check the availability of the update package in the Settings menu by accessing the Software Update section. Due to the size of the package, which is 4.030 GB, it is recommended that the download be performed using a Wi-Fi network connection.
According to the official description provided by Samsung, One UI 9 aims to integrate Galaxy AI into the daily lives of users, offering more intuitive and useful artificial intelligence functionalities. This version allows users to simplify tasks, create content, and maintain connectivity through AI features adapted to the usage mode of the Galaxy device.
Among the new software features introduced are Now Brief and New Nudge, which use information captured by the device itself. Additionally, the My FanCam application was launched, a tool capable of analyzing videos and generating clips focused on specific individuals; this feature had initially been presented with the 2026 foldable phone collection.
Samsung's operation in Brazil is one week behind the schedule predicted by Tecnoblog. The complete S26 line was supposed to receive One UI 9 the previous week, but this delivery did not happen, and the reasons remain unknown.
Furthermore, the update was scheduled for this week, starting September 29th, to cover the S25 lines and the 2025 foldable devices. However, owners of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 reported on social media that no update has been made available yet.
