A new option has appeared in the market for those planning to purchase a 5G smartphone in the price range of around ₹15,000. The company HMD has released its new device, the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G, in India. This company previously manufactured Nokia smartphones but is now presenting its own devices.
The base price of the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G is set at ₹14,999. The model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will cost ₹16,999. Sales of the phone will begin on October 8th on the Flipkart platform and will be available during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale.
HMD has paid special attention to adapting its phone for Indian users. The device integrates Indus by Sarvam AI, developed keeping Indian languages in mind, and also includes the Sanchar Saathi feature.
Smartphone Specifications in the Under ₹15 Thousand Segment
The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G is equipped with an FHD+ display measuring 6.78 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under normal use, the screen brightness reaches 800 nits, ensuring smoother animation and scrolling display. It uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G chipset, which includes two Cortex-A76 cores clocked up to 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 2.0 GHz. The company positions this phone as a device suitable for daily tasks, multitasking, video viewing, and gaming.
The phone is available in two memory configurations. The first model has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and costs ₹14,999. The second version offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for ₹16,999. Storage capacity can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.
64MP Camera from Sony
The main camera of the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G is a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 sensor, supplemented by a secondary 2MP sensor. A 13MP front camera is provided for selfies and video calls.
6000mAh Battery and 33W Charging
A significant feature of this smartphone is the 6000mAh battery, which HMD claims is designed for all-day use. The phone supports 33W fast charging, and the company includes a corresponding fast charger adapter in the box.
Indian Artificial Intelligence Features
One of the most interesting aspects of the HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G is the inclusion of Indus by Sarvam AI. This AI assistant supports 22 Indian languages and was created taking into account cultural context and Indian languages. The company also stated that Indus servers and data will be stored within India.
Sanchar Saathi Feature
The HMD Vibe2 Pro 5G also features the Sanchar Saathi function. It allows users to view information about mobile connections registered under their name; initiate the process of blocking or tracking a lost or stolen phone; file complaints about suspicious calls, and verify the authenticity of the device.
Runs on Android 16
The smartphone will run on Android 16. Additional features include a side fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, dual microphones, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Thus, the manufacturer has retained several functions that are gradually being removed from new models.
The phone will be available in three color options: Silver Mist, Aqua Green, and Cosmic Purple. A subtle iridescent effect has also been added around the camera module, giving the device's design a unique look.
