German researchers have completed a prospective observational study and concluded that the use of triple therapy for cystic fibrosis in childhood can restore the function of the chloride transporter and the level of chloride secretion almost to normal levels.
According to the study results, the effectiveness of the response to this therapy increases as the combined drug is prescribed earlier.
The findings were officially published in the scientific journal European Respiratory Journal.
