Italian underwater archaeologists discovered an ancient bronze sword while conducting work in the small Lake Mezzano, located in the Lazio region. This artifact was found along with other items such as ceramic vessels, a metal razor, and an axe.
The researchers found these items on the territory of a former pile settlement that operated between 1700 and 1150 BC. This became known through a statement from the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Southern Etruria, published on their Facebook page.
Previously, during the same underwater surveys, specialists had already found two swords belonging to the same historical period. These finds are currently stored in one of the museums located in Valentano.
