KT UniExpo Dubai 2026 features over 35 global universities for UAE students

KT UniExpo opened in Dubai today, an event that allows students and parents from the United Arab Emirates to explore educational institutions from around the world in one place. The tenth edition of the exhibition brings together more than 35 universities and educational institutions.

The event is held at the Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road and runs for two days. It provides families with the opportunity to speak directly with university representatives, admissions specialists, and career consultants, helping them make decisions about higher education.

Participating institutions represent countries such as the UAE, the UK, the USA, Canada, India, Australia, and Europe. The offered programs cover a wide range of disciplines, including artificial intelligence, data science, medicine, aerospace engineering, business, finance, media, and design.

The main focus for families is not only on choosing a university but also on understanding admission requirements, scholarships, financial aid, visa procedures, and career prospects associated with various specializations.

The event was officially opened by KT's Chief Content Director, Ted Kemp, and Abdulla Mohana, Senior Vice President and Head of Educational Solutions at RAKBANK, UAE. Kemp noted that the exhibition reflects Khaleej Times' broader role in uniting the educational community, especially given the growing status of the UAE as a destination for international students and a starting point for those planning to study abroad.

He emphasized Khaleej Times' mission to serve the educational sector—students, parents, and society at large. According to him, education is not just about raising youth; it is an industry, and the UAE has transformed into a global hub for education and opportunities. He added that the student movement flows both ways: students from the UAE seek education abroad, and international students consider the UAE for their studies.

For those beginning to compile a list of potential universities, the exhibition offers a chance to move beyond online searches and ask institutions direct questions about courses, admission requirements, and career paths. Families considering international education can discuss practical aspects such as tuition fees, scholarships, financial support, visas, and accommodation.

Abdulla Mohana Jamil Mohana, Senior Vice President and Head of Skiply Programs and Educational Solutions at Skiply, stated that financial and auxiliary services are becoming an integral part of the journey abroad. He introduced the Skiply ecosystem, which connects parents, students, and universities, supported by RAKBANK.

Mohana specified that the platform allows families to manage education payments, including installment options. Through the Skiply app, parents can select a university, make payments, and pay in installments directly using a RAKBANK card without fees.

Furthermore, Mohana announced that for overseas study programs, they can provide added value to parents sending children to other countries. They can manage visa services and housing, as well as tuition payments through Flywire, supported by RAKBANK.

The exhibition takes place at a time when students are increasingly focusing on specializations related to emerging industries alongside traditional academic paths. Visitors can meet with university representatives one-on-one, compare programs, and discuss individual plans, making the event particularly relevant for high school seniors preparing for undergraduate studies and families in the early stages of planning.

As the choice of global universities expands, the exhibition aims to consolidate necessary information for families in one place—from curricula and admissions to costs, scholarships, and future careers. Over many years, KT UniExpo has developed as a platform connecting UAE students with universities and admissions specialists when evaluating higher education options.

Attendance at KT UniExpo is free. The event runs from 8 am to 6 pm at the Millennium Plaza Downtown Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. For registration, sponsorship information, and further details, visitors can visit www.ktuniexpo.com or email events@khaleejtimes.com.

UAE University's MBA Enters QS Top 100 Global Ranking and Recognized as Best in MENA Region

The United Arab Emirates has strengthened its position in global business education: the College of Business and Economics at UAE University ranked 64th in the QS Global MBA Rankings 2027.

This result made the MBA program at UAE University the highest-ranked MBA program in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). As a result, UAE University entered the group of two regional MBA programs that made it into the global top 100. The College of Business and Economics at Qatar University also entered the top 100, ranking 99th.

Notably, eight institutions from the UAE are represented in QS business rankings, demonstrating the country's highest level of representation in specialized master's programs in business within the MENA region.

The QS Global MBA Rankings 2027, published on Wednesday, analyzes over 420 MBA programs from 65 countries and territories. Evaluation factors include employment, return on investment, graduate outcomes, thought leadership, and diversity.

For students and professionals in the UAE considering an MBA degree, this data highlights the growing selection of local educational opportunities, as three UAE institutions feature among the 160 best MBA programs globally. Sharjah American University and Abu Dhabi University's College of Business ranked between 151–160. Other participating UAE institutions included Ajman University and Sharjah University.

The College of Business and Economics at UAE University became the most prominent representative of the UAE, debuting in the QS Global MBA ranking and entering the global top 100 across three key areas: employment, entrepreneurship, and graduate outcomes, as well as return on investment.

QS President Nunzio Quacquarelli noted that this ranking reflects changes in postgraduate management, as business schools adapt to shifts in the workplace and rising expectations of future students. He stated: 'The QS Global MBA and Business Master’s Rankings 2027 show that the landscape of global postgraduate management is changing, adapting, and innovating in the face of changes in the world of work. This, along with the increased expectations of future students, makes global business education more competitive.'

Quacquarelli added that UAE University demonstrated strong results in areas that may be important for students when assessing potential career and financial returns from an MBA. He emphasized: 'The College of Business and Economics at UAE University debuts in 2027, ranking first in the region and 64th globally, while also showing good results in key areas such as employment, entrepreneurship, graduate outcomes, and return on investment.'

QS reported that 30 MBA programs are represented in the 2027 ranking in the MENA region, which is fewer than the 33 in the previous year. Of these, two institutions are new participants, two have risen in the rankings, 11 have dropped, and 15 have maintained their position or range.

The UAE has three programs in the global top 160—more than any other location in the region. The UAE's presence extends beyond traditional MBA programs. In specialized QS Business Master’s rankings, there are 34 programs from MENA, which is 10 more than the 24 in 2026. Eight UAE institutions are represented in these lists, the highest number in the region, surpassed only by Saudi Arabia with five.

UAE University also features in several specialized categories. Its business analytics program ranks 58th globally, with employment at 75th, entrepreneurship and graduate outcomes at 56th, and return on investment at 82nd.

Other UAE institutions have also achieved notable results. American University in Dubai ranked fifth globally for diversity, and Abu Dhabi University's College of Business ranked 11th, while Ajman University ranked 21st in the same category.

QS noted that diversity is one of the strengths of MENA business schools, as seven regional participants entered the global top 100 in this metric. The rankings also indicate the expansion of the business education market in the region beyond MBA, including specialized programs in finance, management, marketing, business analytics, and supply chain management.

Globally, the USA continues to dominate the MBA table, occupying the top four positions: MIT Sloan in first place, followed by Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and Penn Wharton.

For students from the UAE planning to study abroad, the ranking serves as an additional guide compared to international business schools. QS emphasized that the rankings are designed to assess programs based on their industry connections, career prospects, and value for money. Quacquarelli concluded: 'While the MENA region sees some institutions succeeding in diversity, the key areas considered important by prospective students—such as career prospects, employment, and ROI—should be areas of focus for institutions. These rankings allow institutions to conduct self-assessments, and students can see which schools are improving in the areas most important to them.'
