Thanks to a hurricane, German researchers were able to discover the ruins of an ancient Roman cult structure in the Hessian region. These findings were made near the settlement of Rosbach-for-der-Höhe.
Last year, a strong hurricane wind struck the Taunus mountain range, exposing the remains of the ancient building. This structure was made of stone, had a rectangular shape, and measured about five meters in length and 50 centimeters in wall thickness.
Local archaeologist Kai Mückenberger, whose specialization is related to the study of the Roman Limes, determined that the discovered ruins are an ancient temple. He specified that this temple was located outside the boundaries of the ancient fort.
According to the publication Hessenschau, this monument is presumed to date back to the 3rd century AD. At that time, a Roman fort, now known as Kapersburg, was located in the immediate vicinity of this site.
