The Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, met with a delegation from Turkey led by the Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Ibrahim Yumakli, who was in Uzbekistan.
Discussion on cooperation in the agricultural sector
During this meeting, the parties discussed the current level of bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector and also examined potential opportunities and prospects for implementing joint projects. Significant attention was paid to strengthening partnerships, particularly organizing the next meeting of the working group aimed at developing agro-cooperation.
Furthermore, the participants in the negotiations reviewed several important areas of interaction. These include the development of animal husbandry and ensuring feed resources, expanding contacts in the field of seed production and creating new drought-resistant crop varieties. The increase in the number of entrepreneurs engaged in mutual import and export of agricultural products was also discussed, as well as the development of aquaculture and strengthening scientific ties between the countries.
As part of the program, the Turkish delegation, headed by Ibrahim Yumakli and accompanied by Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, visited Tashkent State Agrarian University. There, the delegation members familiarized themselves with the modern conditions, infrastructure, and methodology for training young specialists for students.
