Actress Swara Bhasker, who is currently appearing on the reality show 'Rise and Fall 2', commented on an old dispute that arose around her remarks about the Jauhar scene in the film 'Padmavat'. Her previous statements had drawn significant criticism.
Before attending the 'Rise and Fall' studio, Swara gave an interview to the media where she stated that her comments were intentionally used as a pretext to create a scandal, which she perceived as a conspiracy against her. She claims that many trolls are paid to attack her.
In the interview, she emphasized that this dispute is nine or ten years old. She recalled that back in 2018, when her open letter was released, she was also threatened with insults, and she believes this conflict has long been resolved. She does not understand why people are raising this issue again after almost ten years.
Swara explained that her words were distorted. She clarified that she initially thought people might not understand her statement in English, so she expressed her thought in Hindi. She only said that if she were a survivor of rape and witnessed such praise, she would consider herself a coward. She was talking about herself, saying that she herself would find it cowardly. However, the media reported that Swara Bhasker linked Jauhar to cowardice and labeled women who committed Jauhar as cowards. In her opinion, this dispute was deliberately created.
The actress stated that this was not the first time something like this happened to her, as she has repeatedly raised the topic of the Jauhar scene in various interviews, but nothing happened then. She wondered why people have suddenly become dissatisfied now. She suggested that IT departments of various political parties are behind this, conducting this campaign as part of a conspiracy against her to promote a certain agenda.
Sarcastically noting that some people are paid to work in her name, training an army all day, she added that they are tasked with trolling her. She has always said that if they harass her, use her name for headlines, distort her image, or make mistakes, they should send her a gift on Diwali.
