The Ministry of Commerce in Saudi Arabia announced on Sunday the recall of over 300 Jeep vehicles due to a detected defect in the tires.
Specifically, about 391 Jeep Grand Cherokee models from the 2024–2026 production batch were recalled. The reason was the discovery of a malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system, which indicated that warning signals might not display at low pressure, thereby increasing the probability of a road traffic accident.
This is not the first instance of vehicle model recalls in the neighboring country. Earlier this month, the regulator recalled 182 Tesla Model 3 vehicles (2024–2026 batch) after identifying an issue with the car's airbag system. A technical flaw in the calibration of the Front Side Airbag (FSAB) potentially could lead to the airbag not deploying correctly in a side collision, increasing the risk of injury.
Owners of affected vehicles were offered a remote software update, eliminating the need to visit a service center.
Prior to this, on September 7, authorities announced the recall of 4,464 Genesis vehicles due to a defect that could cause fuel leaks and increase fire hazard. This recall covered eight Genesis models from the 2021 to 2026 model years, including lines such as GV70, GV80, G80, and G90.
Meanwhile, in August, the Kingdom recalled 84,639 Toyota Camry vehicles from the 2025–2026 model year. The recall was initiated after discovering a defect in these cars' dashboard system, which could impede the correct display of key information and affect several warning functions. This defect can also disrupt the operation of turn signals, warning lights, ignition key alarms, and seatbelt audible alerts, potentially raising the risk of an accident.
Similar vehicle recall cases have also been announced in Gulf countries in recent months, as authorities work to identify potential defects and ensure that vehicles in the region comply with established safety standards.
