In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, updated public transport tariffs will come into force on October 1, 2026. When paying electronically for one trip on a bus or in the metro, the cost will be 2,500 UZS including VAT, while cash payment will cost 3,000 UZS. This decision was adopted by the Tashkent City Council of People's Deputies on September 25.
The electronic tariff of 2,500 UZS includes an incentive discount. Passengers will have to pay 4,000 UZS for transporting luggage.
Furthermore, the introduction of fare plans for transport cards has been approved, with prices depending on the number of trips. An unlimited daily ride on a bus will cost 11,500 UZS, weekly—54,000 UZS, and monthly—250,000 UZS.
Unlimited travel covering both buses and the metro will cost 13,500 UZS per day, 73,000 UZS per week, and 345,000 UZS per month.
Long-term plans provide for more significant discounts. An unlimited bus ride for three months will cost 682,500 UZS, for six months—1.17 million UZS, and for a year—1.95 million UZS. Corresponding plans for buses and metro will cost 945,000 UZS, 1.62 million UZS, and 2.7 million UZS, respectively. The discounts from the full price for these long-term plans will be 30%, 40%, and 50%.
Trip packages will also be introduced: ten trips will cost 19,000 UZS, 20 trips—38,500 UZS, and 30 trips—57,500 UZS.
The decision separately approved preferential and free transfer fares when using a transport card within one hour. The first trip will cost 2,500 UZS, and the second bus trip—1,500 UZS; subsequent bus trips will be free. A metro trip within such a transfer chain will cost 1,500 UZS. If the journey starts from the metro, the fare will be 2,500 UZS.
The one-hour period begins from the moment of payment upon boarding the first transport. Under the one-hour metro tariff, a passenger can use the metro only once; re-entering the metro initiates a new 60-minute period. People legally entitled to free public transport will retain this right. Students, schoolchildren, pensioners, and people with disabilities will receive a 50% discount when purchasing transport card fare plans.
