Discussions were held in St. Petersburg as part of the XII International Forum of United Cultures. Uzbekistan put forward several proposals to CIS countries regarding the development of cinematography.
Uzbekistan proposed creating a unified film space among CIS countries, as well as expanding the production of joint films and the screening of national cinema.
These proposals were voiced during the forum, which took place in St. Petersburg from September 24 to 26. Specifically, on September 25, the first deputy minister of culture of Uzbekistan, Nodirbek Saifullaev, participated in the session dedicated to 'Mechanisms for Creating a Unified Film Space of CIS Countries.'
This session discussed issues of improving mechanisms for promoting national cinema in other countries, expanding the exchange of film festivals and film days, as well as producing joint films between CIS states.
In addition, Uzbekistan presented initiatives concerning the development of the film education system and specialist training, support for young directors and producers, as well as the organization of creative laboratories and master classes.
Mikhail Shvidkoi, Special Representative of the President of Russia for International Cultural Cooperation, Olga Lyubimova, Minister of Culture of Russia, Alexey Fursin, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, as well as representatives of the cultural departments of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Belarus, took part in the session.
The delegation of Uzbekistan also participated in the plenary session, which was attended by Vladimir Putin. During this session, topics such as intercultural dialogue, international cultural cooperation, and experience exchange between countries were discussed.
