The Migration Service of Uzbekistan issued an official statement regarding the status of Bakhtiyor Muminov, whose complex situation in Russia was recently discussed on social media. The agency clarified that Bakhtiyor Muminov is a citizen of the Russian Federation.
A representative of the Migration Service in Russia and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don visited the scene and identified the man. During the investigation, it was revealed that Bakhtiyor Muminov moved to Russia with his family in the 1990s and subsequently obtained Russian Federation citizenship.
Relevant law enforcement agencies confirmed that the person shown in the video circulating on social media is indeed a citizen of Russia. Furthermore, Muminov's close relatives are also citizens of the Russian Federation.
The Migration Service reported that within its competence, it provides practical assistance to Uzbek citizens who find themselves in difficult situations abroad. In such cases, citizens are advised to contact the diplomatic missions and consular institutions of Uzbekistan.
