Ukrainian leader Zelensky appealed to world leaders to keep existing sanctions on Russian oligarchs and continue restricting all trade with the terrorists until Russia ceases the war. He emphasized that only joint daily efforts can bring peace closer.
In particular, Zelensky strongly urged US President Donald Trump to enact the 'Lindsey Graham Act' against Russia and all those financing its war. This recently approved law grants the White House additional authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries supporting the Kremlin's war by purchasing Russian oil.
The Ukrainian President also called on European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to introduce additional sanctions against Russia. He stressed that partners must not forget: Russia is intensifying its actions daily.
Zelensky warned that if Russians decide to make their attacks even more brutal, the world must choose more decisive countermeasures to prevent further escalation of the war. The head of state recalled recent Russian attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine, including the capital Kyiv.
