Employees of the State Security Department in Tashkent, together with the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, discovered an attempt to illegally enroll a citizen directly into the third year of a private higher education institution, according to the press service of the State Security Department.
Details of the scheme
According to the agency's data, a person who is a native of the Gallaorolsky district of Jizzakh region and resides in Tashkent gained the trust of a citizen and demanded $8,000 USD from him. In exchange, he promised to help enroll this person in the third year of one of the capital's private universities.
To implement this scheme, the suspect planned to use forged documents that supposedly certified that the citizen had studied for two years at a Russian university. The man was detained with material evidence while receiving $7,500 USD. Operational measures continued after this.
Another citizen, registered in Samarkand region and temporarily residing in Tashkent, who was also receiving the same amount of money, was also detained. The preliminary investigation also established the involvement of a psychologist inspector from the internal affairs department of the Yakkasaray district in this scheme. He was also detained while receiving $7,500 USD.
Criminal cases have been initiated against all mentioned individuals, and investigative actions are currently underway.
