The Japanese Immigration Service Agency recently deported a citizen of Uzbekistan who was in the country illegally. According to the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan, this deportation was carried out at the expense of the state budget.
According to the embassy's data, the citizen of Uzbekistan entered Japan on a short-term visa. However, after the permitted stay expired, he did not leave the country and was subsequently detained by the authorities.
The diplomatic mission reminded citizens of Uzbekistan that violations related to illegal stay and illegal employment in Japan can lead to strict measures. These measures include detention and arrest by the police, placement in an immigration detention center, and deportation.
Furthermore, it was noted that the Japanese government provides information about violators to the government of Uzbekistan, which means the possibility of taking appropriate measures after their return to Uzbekistan.
The embassy strongly urged citizens of Uzbekistan to exercise extreme caution and not trust careless offers of earning money in Japan.
There was also a warning regarding the common misconception that applying for refugee status grants the right to stay or work in Japan for a long time. Refugee status applications cannot be submitted for this purpose. If a refugee status application is rejected, the applicant may be placed in an immigration detention center or deported.
The embassy emphasized that serious legal consequences follow the provision of false information or the use of fraudulent schemes when applying for refugee status.
