Microsoft has restructured the Copilot platform, transforming the assistant into a consolidated productivity application. This new version integrates conversational, code generation, and automation features within a single interface, aiming to increase paid adoption of the tool by Office 365 corporate clients.
According to CNBC, currently, less than 7% of the more than 450 million Office 365 corporate licenses have the paid version of Microsoft's artificial intelligence features, meaning less than one in every fourteen licenses has access to paid Copilot.
The new Copilot application organizes its features into three main sections, each dedicated to a specific type of professional activity. Microsoft designed this Copilot to shape work in the age of Artificial Intelligence, following the precedent set by Office for the PC era.
Regarding pricing, the commercial license for Microsoft 365 Copilot is priced at US$ 30 per user monthly (approximately R$ 155). The Cowork, Code, and Autopilot features will have costs based on usage volume.
To help companies manage these costs, Microsoft introduced FinOps for AI, a set of tools designed to monitor artificial intelligence consumption. With it, administrators can set spending caps, authorize credit requests, and determine which AI models will be accessible to different groups of employees.

The implementation of this new structure will begin to be made available to users in the coming weeks. Initially, the Home and Code features will be released to participants in the Frontier testing program, while Autopilot will enter private preview until the end of September.
