Uzbekistan plans to launch a demographic forecasting system and develop a strategy called 'Demographic Dividend – 2050'. This initiative was announced by the head of the Presidential Administration, Saida Mirziyoyeva.
These plans were voiced by her after an event dedicated to demographic sustainability, which was held in collaboration with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The Importance of the Young Generation
Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized that the youth are the main capital of Uzbekistan. For this potential to become a source of demographic dividend in the future, it is necessary to start investing in the health, education, and security of citizens, paying special attention to women and children.
In this regard, the country plans to introduce a demographic forecasting system. This system will allow for more targeted decision-making and planning measures taking into account the long-term perspective.
The Head of the Presidential Administration also noted that the future of the state depends not so much on the population size as on the level of opportunities available to its residents.
