TATA Cars has introduced its new compact sedan, the TATA Aeris, which is the company's only sedan. This model directly competes with cars such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze, but it offers a lower price compared to its competitors.
TATA has also incorporated several features into this car that are first in their segment. The vehicle is available in a CNG engine version and a paddle shifter, a feature also found in the TATA Tiago CNG. The base variant of the TATA Aeris is available in two configurations: Smart in petrol and CNG. The price for the petrol version with a manual transmission is 5.29 lakh rupees ex-showroom, while the CNG version with a manual transmission costs 6.29 lakh rupees. It is important to note that the company does not offer an automatic transmission option in the base variant.
The car is significantly cheaper than its competitors. For example, the Hyundai Aura starts from a price of 6 lakh rupees, making the TATA Aeris 71 thousand rupees more affordable. Compared to the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Aeris is 1 lakh rupees cheaper. The overall starting price of the car is 6.31 lakh rupees, which is 2.45 lakh rupees less than the Honda Amaze, whose base version costs 7.74 lakh rupees ex-showroom. The TATA Aeris Smart configuration includes a Sportlux steering mechanism, a premium two-tone interior, a 12.7 cm digital instrument cluster, 14-inch steel wheels, six airbags, Isofix, ABS, EBD, and CSC, headlights with an integrated LED light bar, front seat back support, adjustable steering wheel, rear headrests, a rear parking sensor, and manual HVAC with seatbelt reminders.
This car is equipped with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine. When running on petrol, this engine produces 86 hp and 113 Nm of torque. In CNG mode, it delivers 75.5 hp and 96.5 Nm of torque.
