The second national conference on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, scheduled for September 30 in Tashkent, plans to discuss issues of investment in the development of the Trans-Caspian Corridor, as well as the simplification of border procedures.
According to a statement from the EU Delegation's press service in Uzbekistan, the event will consider investments in railway and road infrastructure, as well as the digitalization of transport documents and easing the border crossing process.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Directorate-General of the European Commission for International Partnerships. Representatives of various state bodies, as well as employees of international financial and transport-logistics companies, will take part.
Participants will focus on priority projects for Uzbekistan located on the route connecting Central Asia with Europe. In addition to improving the condition of the road network and border regulations, the agenda will include the issue of developing the logistics network, digitizing trade and transport documents, and attracting the private sector.
This conference takes place within the framework of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor Coordination Platform, financed by the EU in accordance with the Global Gateway strategy. This platform serves as a venue for bringing together five Central Asian countries, the European Union, international financial institutions, and other partners to agree on necessary reforms and investments along this transport route.
