Lawyer who secured the execution of terrorist Kasaba participates in KBC show; Amitabh Bachchan welcomes him

In the 18th season of the show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati?' (KBC), a star guest from the film 'Prahar – The Untold Story of Ujwal Nikam' will appear this weekend. A new promotional video featured Wamika Gabbi, Rajkumar Rao, and Ujwal Nikam.

Ujwal Nikam played the role of the public prosecutor in the case against terrorist Ajmal Kasab, who participated in the 26/11 Mumbai attack, and made a significant contribution to bringing Kasab to the gallows.

On the KBC set, Ujwal Nikam sat on the hot seat opposite Amitabh Bachchan along with Rajkumar Rao and Wamika. 'Big B' warmly welcomed all the guests. He particularly noted Mr. Ujwal Nikam, who was awarded the Padma Shri, for demonstrating the 'level of an adversary' in the 26/11 attack case. During this moment, slogans of 'Jai Bharat Mata' were heard on the set.

On the KBC stage, Ujwal Nikam presented the same arguments he had made before the judge in court to secure Kasab's execution. Rajkumar Rao delivered a dialogue from his film in front of Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan applauded Rajkumar Rao's acting and delivery of the dialogue. Regarding the film 'Prahar,' its teaser has already been released and received a strong response from viewers. In the film, Rajkumar Rao plays Ujwal Nikam. His speech in the courtroom drama is highly praised, and his appearance closely resembles the character of Ujwal Nikam. Jaydeep Ahalat will also play the role of the lawyer. The film was directed by Avinash Arun and is scheduled for release on October 16.

This project remained dormant for a long time, but now its release date is known. Johar plans to release his film on August 11, 2028, marking the 60th anniversary of RAW's establishment. The film will be based on Nitin Gohle's book, 'R.N. Kao: Gentleman Spymaster'. Johar is creating this film in collaboration with his company Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective.

Johar stated at the film announcement: 'He created what was invisible... but his influence will remain in history forever.' He added that today marks the 58th anniversary of RAW, and they are pleased to announce the creation of a film about its founder, R.N. Kao. R.N. Kao played a key role in the creation of this organization, working behind the scenes, and it is now known as RAW. The film will also show the story of his first mission.

Who Was R.N. Kao?

Currently, it is unknown who will direct this film or which actor will play the role of R.N. Kao. The story will show moments from R.N. Kao's life in 1955, explaining the circumstances of RAW's founding. The narrative will then move to the agency's first major assignment during the war with Pakistan in 1971.

Before taking charge of RAW, R.N. Kao headed the Aeronautical Research Centre of the Intelligence Bureau. He also closely collaborated with the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Kao participated in many confidential intelligence operations and played an important role in the events related to the formation of Bangladesh in 1971.

The film Havam, starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, showed weak box office results compared to the film Hanumanansh.

In the film industry, there is often a trend where the appearance of a major star's film causes all other projects to scale down. However, this situation has drastically changed over the last month and a half. The film 'Hanumanansh,' shot on a modest budget of 20 million rupees, is demonstrating competitiveness against all high-budget films and in some cases even surpasses them.

Whether it is new releases or older movies, 'Hanumanansh' is currently dominating among all presented films.

Last week, 'Hanumanansh' faced off against the film 'Mirzapur Da Movie,' which collected significant box office revenue. But it also had to compete with the movie based on the life of Nim Karoli Baba. These two films fiercely competed against each other. Amidst this competition, the film 'Havam,' starring Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, was released this week but has so far faced an unsuccessful run at the box office.

'Havam' started its run very weakly, collecting only 30 million rupees in net revenue on the first day. The following day, Saturday, saw a sharp drop in collections. On the second day, the film earned only 25 million rupees, bringing the total net collection to 55 million rupees. The average attendance nationwide was 14%. Despite the participation of Akshay and Saif, as well as the direction by Priyadarshan, the film failed to attract an audience. It seems Akshay's star status is gradually weakening.

On the other hand, speaking of 'Hanumanansh' and 'Mirzapur Da Movie,' 'Mirzapur' reached a net collection of 13 million rupees by the second Saturday and showed significant growth. The film's total net revenue reached 171.45 million rupees over 9 days and will soon exceed the 200 million rupee mark.

Meanwhile, 'Hanumanansh' earned 18.50 million rupees on its sixth Saturday, and its total income over 37 days amounted to 192.13 million rupees (net). As for global collections, they have already reached 236.50 million rupees. On Sunday, the film will finally cross the 250 million rupee mark at the box office. This film brought the creators an income 118 times greater than its budget, something no Indian film before it could achieve.
