Renault has launched the Rafale Hypnotic, a limited edition run of 1,500 numbered units, which tops the coupe SUV line and is considered by the manufacturer to be the most expensive model ever offered by the brand on the European continent.
In France, the cost of this vehicle is R$ 375.7 thousand (equivalent to € 63,550), a value about R$ 19.5 thousand higher than the Atelier Alpine version, which serves as the base for this special edition. For comparison, its price exceeds that of the Koleos E-Tech by approximately R$ 86 thousand, the current top-of-the-line Renault in Brazil, which is sold for R$ 289,990. It is important to note that the Rafale is not available for sale in the Brazilian market.
The distinctions between the Hypnotic and other versions are mainly concentrated on visual details. The body features an exclusive Forest Black paint with a satin finish, complemented by a black front grille, roof trim, and a glossy black rear spoiler, in addition to a darkened Atelier Alpine emblem. The 21-inch alloy wheels also receive a satin finish, maintaining the darkened headlights of the base version.
Inside, the SUV combines materials such as Alcantara and textured fabric, featuring stitching in blue, white, and red, referencing the French flag. The interior dashboard is covered in Alcantara, and the seat armrests display illuminated Alpine emblems. Furthermore, each unit is identified with a numbered plate located on the center console.
As a top-tier version, the Rafale Hypnotic includes standard features that are optional in other configurations of the line. Among these items are Matrix Vision LED headlights, a Solarbay panoramic roof with opacity adjustment capability, Harman Kardon audio system, head-up display, automatic parking, 360° camera, heated windshield, courtesy lights on the doors, heated front seats with massage function for the driver, and a 32 A charging cable.
The mechanical part remains unchanged compared to the Rafale E-Tech 4x4. It uses a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo engine, generating 150 hp and 23.5 kgfm, assisted by three electric motors, one of which is positioned on the rear axle to ensure all-wheel drive. The total power reaches 300 hp, as disclosed by Renault. The 22 kWh battery allows for up to 105 km solely in electric mode, following the European WLTP cycle.
The chassis package is also provided by Atelier Alpine, featuring calibration signed by Alpine, 4Control Advanced four-wheel steering, and an active suspension system that uses a camera on the windshield to anticipate road imperfections.
Orders for the Rafale Hypnotic will begin on October 1st in 14 European markets, including France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Poland. The first deliveries are scheduled for the end of 2026. The official launch will take place at the Paris Motor Show, an event scheduled for October 12th to 18th, at the Porte de Versailles pavilion. In Europe, the price positions the Rafale above the entry-level versions of competitors such as the Audi Q5 Sportback and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupé.
