Adobe announced recent additions of features to its artificial intelligence platforms. Specifically, Photoshop, Lightroom, Adobe Express, and Firefly have been integrated into Gemini, while the Adobe for Claude plugin now incorporates Acrobat features for PDF document manipulation.
These new capabilities allow users to create and edit content through dialogues with chatbots, also permitting direct modification of designs and documents within these interfaces.
For Adobe itself, the inclusion in Gemini represents the beginning of a collaboration with Google. This new integration allows users to utilize Photoshop, Lightroom, Express, and Firefly simply by describing the desired outcome in natural language, leaving Adobe to coordinate the necessary steps and tools.
Examples of use include enhancing product photographs, adapting layouts for social media, or customizing Express templates for marketing campaigns.
Neal Pancholi, Google's Global Partnerships Director, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership expansion, stating that the industry's leading creative tools are now directly accessible in Gemini, allowing anyone to bring their ideas to life via chat.
This feature is globally available across all Gemini plans. To activate it, the user must access the Personal Intelligence area in Gemini, locate the connected applications section, select Adobe, and log in with their Adobe account.
The Adobe for Claude plugin now aggregates Acrobat tools, bringing together over 80 professional features from services such as Acrobat, Express, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, InDesign, and Adobe Stock.
In the context of PDFs, the user can utilize the Document Review feature, which analyzes the file and adds suggestions and annotations directly into the interactive editor. Furthermore, Adobe Express has obtained a layer-based interactive editor within Claude, facilitating specific adjustments to images, text, colors, and fonts without needing to redo the entire design.
Adobe for Claude is being rolled out worldwide on both Claude and Claude Code for desktop, mobile, and web, initially accessible as a guest; however, to unlock all features, authentication with an Adobe account is essential.
Users who previously had the old Adobe connector in Claude will receive an automatic update to this new plugin. With these integrations, creation, editing, and review processes can be initiated directly within the AI platforms. While Gemini focuses on Adobe's creative tools, Claude expands this scope to PDF documents and offers greater control over Express designs.
