The charitable organization MAHAK, which provides support to children with cancer in Iran, has strengthened its international engagement. This was achieved through membership and active participation in the activities of major global organizations such as the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), the Children's Cancer International Fund (CCI), and the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP).
This was stated by Arasb Ahmadian, CEO of MAHAK. He made these statements during a ceremony dedicated to September—Childhood Cancer Awareness Month—which took place on Tuesday.
MAHAK is a full member of the International Union Against Cancer (UICC), a global organization aimed at promoting cancer control worldwide. Through this membership, MAHAK participates in international efforts focused on knowledge and experience exchange, capacity building, and strengthening cooperation in cancer prevention and treatment.
Furthermore, the charity organization is part of the Children's Cancer International Fund (CCI)—a global network of organizations working to improve the lives of children and adolescents suffering from cancer, as well as their families. This network serves as a platform for international cooperation and experience sharing in the treatment and support of children with cancer.
MAHAK also interacts with the International Society of Pediatric Oncology (SIOP), which is a leading international body in the field of pediatric oncology. Participation in SIOP-related programs and networks opens opportunities for scientific and educational collaboration, as well as professional exchange regarding the treatment and care of children with cancer.
Through these international connections, MAHAK strives to promote the exchange of expertise and experience, contributing to the development of more effective methods for treating childhood cancer. MAHAK's activities are divided into three main categories: Charity, Hospital, and Research. These efforts are entirely directed towards assisting children with cancer in the areas of medical care, prevention, treatment, healthcare, and social services. MAHAK's slogan, 'Help us, and we will help you,' reflects the vital role of civil society in helping humanity with love and compassion.
By 2025, MAHAK has provided comprehensive support to over 45,000 children with cancer and their families across Iran.
