The London football club Chelsea is paying close attention to Uzbekistan national team and Manchester City defender Abdukodir Husanov, studying the prospects of his transfer as early as January.
The 22-year-old athlete is on the list of players that Chelsea is considering to strengthen its defensive line. This interest from the club is due to a difficult start to the current season: in the first five matches of the English Premier League, the team has conceded 12 goals to opponents.
Although Husanov has managed to establish himself in the Manchester City squad, he does not yet have a guaranteed place in the starting lineup. This situation creates an opportunity for a transfer, and Chelsea sees it as a way to strengthen its defense.
It should be noted that Chelsea is not the only club monitoring this player; three other teams in the English Premier League are also studying the possibility of acquiring him. At the moment, all discussions concern only interest and observation of the footballer, and no official agreements have been reached between Manchester City and potential buyers.
Previously, Abdukodir Husanov moved to Manchester City in January 2025, signing a five-year contract valid until 2031.
