The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms, excessive lightning, small hail, and gusty winds across sections of the Northern Cape and Western Cape.
These storms are anticipated to deliver heavy lightning, significant amounts of small hail, and strong gusts to the western and southern areas of the Namakwa District Municipality within the Northern Cape. Similar weather is expected in the Central Karoo and West Coast districts of the Western Cape.
Furthermore, extremely high fire danger conditions are forecasted for the northeastern regions of the Northern Cape.

In Gauteng, the weather is predicted to be warm and partly cloudy, accompanied by a very high UVB sunburn index. Mpumalanga will experience morning fog patches near the escarpment, transitioning into partly cloudy and cool to warm conditions. Limpopo is expected to start cloudy in the east, otherwise remaining partly cloudy and warm, with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers over parts of the east and southwest. The Free State is forecast to be fine and warm, gradually becoming partly cloudy later in the day. In the Northern Cape, conditions will be partly cloudy and range from warm to hot, featuring isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers over the south-eastern and central areas, while the western parts and southern high ground will see widespread showers and thundershowers.
The Western Cape is set to be partly cloudy over the Little and Central Karoo in the morning, with widespread showers and thundershowers developing by the afternoon. Outside of this area, cloudy and warm conditions with scattered showers and thundershowers are expected.
The western portion of the Eastern Cape will have morning fog in some southern locations, followed by fine and cool to warm weather. It will become cloudy, with scattered showers and thundershowers, though these will remain isolated along the coast. The eastern half of the Eastern Cape is expected to be cloudy, with fog patches south of the escarpment. Otherwise, conditions will be fine and warm to hot before turning cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers.
KwaZulu-Natal is expected to have morning fog inland, followed by partly cloudy and warm weather. Isolated showers and thundershowers are predicted for the extreme southwest and northeast. High UVB sunburn conditions are anticipated in Gauteng and the Western Cape, and high levels are expected in KwaZulu-Natal.
