Rockstar Games has released a special collector's edition for GTA 6, which includes several themed items, but does not contain the game itself. This package gathers various collectible items, such as a replica of the alligator Macca The Gator, a cap, and a fanny pack, in addition to posters, stickers, and other collectibles.
This edition can be purchased through the official Rockstar portal for US$ 400, which is equivalent to approximately R$ 2 thousand at the current exchange rate. The main title, which must be purchased separately, is available starting from R$ 449.90 on PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X and Series S platforms.
It is important to note that Rockstar itself had previously indicated that GTA 6 probably would not have a physical media version, something that usually accompanies editions like this. However, the lack of an activation code drew attention from consumers. At the moment, these collectible items are not yet available for purchase in Brazil.
Although it is notable that the set announced by Rockstar does not include GTA 6 among the 11 promised items, this is not unprecedented. In 2024, 2K, Rockstar's partner company, released a collector's edition of Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 that also did not come with the installed game, generating complaints from some users on Reddit.
Besides the high anticipation for the Rockstar launch, the community has expressed the need for a physical version of the game. This demand was even raised by the hacker CyberLeeks, who leaked several images of the title at the end of August.
Despite the absence of the game in the package, the collector's bundle offered by Rockstar features exclusive products for fans of the franchise. Highlights include the miniature of Macca The Gator, an animated character seen in the game presentation shown by Netflix. Other available accessories include a drink stirrer, a shot glass, a customized fanny pack, a cap with references to Vice City, and Oakley glasses with pink details. The box also contains a mirror, a keychain, two game posters, along with several pins and stickers that reflect the title's aesthetic.
