Bentley's customization division, Bentley Mulliner, has completed the delivery of three bespoke Continental vehicles for Bentley Warsaw. Each of these automobiles was conceived with inspiration from a specific celestial body: the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon.
The Nicolaus Copernicus Collection was unveiled on September 21st and serves as a tribute to the Polish polymath Nicolaus Copernicus, who postulated the Sun as the center of the system, instead of the Earth. The collection includes two Continental GT S coupes and one Continental GTC S convertible, all of which are exclusive units. Sales prices were not disclosed.
A unifying element among the three cars is the Copernicus Diagram, an orbital graphic representing the eight planets of the solar system: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. This design is applied in relief and embroidery on the center console, the front and rear padded panels, the welcome lights, and the roof lining.
It is important to note that Uranus and Neptune were discovered as planets long after Copernicus' death, specifically in 1781 and 1846, respectively, centuries after his passing in 1543.
Instead of conventional wood or carbon fiber finishes, Mulliner opted to use natural stone coverings. The Sun model, which is the convertible of the trio, features Manuka Orange paint, combined with main orange leather and secondary Gravity Grey trim. Copper Stone marquetry adorns the dashboard and door sides, while orange stitching and piping on the carpet refer to the concept of the solar system's center.
The Earth, one of the coupes, boasts the exclusive Nebula Blue color and features an interior composed of Imperial Blue and Aegean Blue leather, complemented by Galaxy Stone details, contrasting silver stitching, and a center console with a satin finish in Imperial Blue.
The second coupe, the Moon, received the Moonstruck silver finish, designed to evoke the appearance of the lunar surface. Its interior mixes dark-toned Beluga leather with Ice leather applications on the seats, center console, dashboard, and door linings.
The mechanical performance is identical across all three vehicles. They are equipped with a 4.0-liter biturbo plug-in hybrid V8 engine, generating 680 hp and 94.8 kgfm. This configuration allows the Continental to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, reach a top speed of 306 km/h, and travel up to 80 km using only electric power. The package is completed with 22-inch ten-spoke bright black wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes.
In addition to the vehicle, each unit was accompanied by custom sills and a key box with an exclusive design, Mulliner carpets, a particular fragrance, as well as pocket squares and scarves in colors corresponding to each theme.
