Ceer, establishing itself as Saudi Arabia's first automaker, has unveiled its two initial models: the Exobot sedan and the Exobot SUV, both powered by electricity. The reveal took place at the King Abdullah Economic City, where the factory is located, and was led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also chairs the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The sales prices of the vehicles were not disclosed.
In its most powerful configuration, the vehicles utilize a three-electric motor setup, generating a combined force of 1,126 hp and 153 kgfm. Specifically, the sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.1 seconds and has a maximum speed capacity of 250 km/h. The SUV completes this same test in 2.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h.
Initially, the models will be available in the limited edition First Edition, equipped with 862 hp and 102 kgfm. In this version, the sedan takes 2.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, and the SUV requires 2.9 seconds for the same feat. Later, a Plus version will be introduced, offering customization options.
Both cars feature a 112 kWh battery, which guarantees an estimated range of 670 km for the sedan and 560 km for the SUV, calculated under the NEDC cycle—an older and optimistic standard that has been replaced by WLTP in Europe. Furthermore, the 800-volt electrical system allows for charging from 10% to 80% in less than half an hour, according to the manufacturer itself.
Ceer was founded in 2022 through a joint venture between the PIF, the Saudi sovereign wealth fund, and the Taiwanese electronics company Foxconn. The brand also received component technology licensing from BMW. The Exobot model represents the first of a projected seven models by 2030, covering a line that may include smaller vehicles and not all of which will be electric.
In terms of dimensions, the sedan measures 5.26 meters in length, while the SUV is 5.02 meters. Both share a width of 2.10 meters but have different heights: 1.43 meters for the three-volume car and 1.69 meters for the utility vehicle, the latter having a wheelbase of 3.20 meters.
A notable aspect is the 2.4-meter windshield, which visually extends to the hood and is cited by Ceer as the largest ever implemented in a production vehicle. The doors, named Shahin and which open upwards, reference the regional falcon, and complement a vast glazed area that required specific solutions to deal with the Saudi heat.
To mitigate the heat, the glass is composed of three layers of silver. The company claims that its air conditioning system can reduce the internal cabin temperature from 65°C to 32°C in ten minutes. Inside, the dashboard displays a 48-inch curved screen that spans the entire column, along with a 10.4-inch multimedia center and another 8-inch screen for rear occupants. The traditional steering wheel has been replaced by a joystick connected to a steer-by-wire steering system, which has no direct mechanical link to the wheels. The side mirrors have been replaced by cameras.
Technical specifications also include the ability to steer the rear wheels, dual-chamber pneumatic suspension, and torque vectoring. Future planned features include an AI voice assistant, remote updates, and Level 3 autonomous driving functionality with point-to-point navigation.
