There are many female drone operators in Gorakhor who claim that the government's 'dual engine' provides them with opportunities for career growth and financial stability. One such woman, Nitu Pasawan, residing in the village of Merauli, Kaudiram block, and Gorakhor district, is also a drone operator. She stated that despite numerous difficulties, she has achieved significant progress now.
Nitu Pasawan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and noted Yogi's great contribution. According to her, she earns between 50 to 60 thousand rupees per month, which amounts to 5 to 6 lakh rupees annually. She emphasized that drones bring great benefits to women.
Nitu Pasawan reported that her training in drone operation took place in 2024, after which she started working, and the results have been very good. She also mentioned that Yogi plans to provide a group of 50-50 thousand rupees, which will benefit every woman. Expressing her appreciation for the government, she said: 'I sincerely thank you; such a government is a godsend for a woman.'
The 'Drone Didi' program is a centralized initiative aimed at enhancing the financial sustainability of women and increasing the use of modern technologies in agriculture. Under this program, women use drones to spray liquid fertilizers, such as liquid nutrients, as well as pesticides on fields. Women offer spraying services to farmers on rent using drones, allowing them to earn an additional income of at least 100 thousand rupees annually. The government is currently spending about 1.261 billion rupees to implement this program.
The 'Drone Didi' program represents an inspiring story of technological empowerment and self-reliance for rural women. Under this program, drones are provided to women's self-help groups for agricultural work. Rural women are trained as drone pilots so they can become financially independent and contribute to the adoption of modern farming methods.
