The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has issued a new warning regarding the rational use of painkillers and antibiotics, as their uncontrolled intake can lead to complications with the kidneys and other adverse effects.
Regular consumption of analgesics for minor aches or the use of antibiotics without proper medical consultation can expose people to the risk of developing kidney problems and other side effects.
Dr. Dinesh Khullar, Group Chairman of the Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Department at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, noted that even short-term use of these medications can be dangerous for vulnerable populations. He strongly recommended that people avoid self-medication and take medications only as prescribed by a doctor.
