Saida Mirziyoyeva discussed transport and healthcare projects with head of American corporation

The Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting in New York with the Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Finance Corporation (DFC), Ben Black. During the negotiations, the parties focused on developing large-scale joint initiatives in the transport and healthcare sectors, the implementation of which has already begun.

As a result of this meeting, Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized Uzbekistan's readiness to further deepen partnership relations with the DFC.

The dialogue took place at the venue of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, which is currently taking place in New York. The headquarters of this international organization hosts delegations from approximately 130 countries, including Uzbekistan. Furthermore, as part of general speeches, the Uzbek delegation had the opportunity to listen to reports by several world leaders.

Mirziyoyev discussed the implementation of AI and the development of payment systems with Uzbeks in Korea

During his state visit to the Republic of Korea, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Uzbeks residing and studying in the country. Participants in this meeting put forward a number of proposals aimed at activating the use of Korean digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the spheres of Uzbekistan's public administration and economy, as well as promoting the development of national payment systems and improving the qualifications of IT specialists.

In informal discussions, compatriots shared ideas on strengthening economic, scientific, and educational ties between Uzbekistan and Korea. Special attention was paid to the potential of implementing AI and modern digital solutions in key sectors of the economy and public administration. Furthermore, concepts for applying innovations in areas such as medicine, transport, customs, and tourism were voiced.

Representatives also suggested accelerating the process of creating domestic platforms for money transfers and payment systems, as well as strengthening the training of personnel in the field of information technology. Within the framework of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, the possibility of expanding the network of Uzbek cultural centers in Korea, developing Uzbek language courses, and holding joint cultural events was discussed. It was also proposed to translate works of Uzbek classical literature into Korean.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev thanked his compatriots for their contribution to the socio-economic development of the country and assured that all presented initiatives would be carefully considered, and the most significant projects would receive state support.

As part of his visit, Mirziyoyev also held talks with the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae-myung, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Cho Jeong-sik, as well as with other representatives of the Korean leadership. The visit program includes participation in the Uzbekistan-Korea business forum and the first 'Central Asia – Republic of Korea' summit. Previously, it was announced that Uzbekistan and South Korea would form a portfolio of more than one hundred joint projects worth billions of dollars, covering industry, energy, transport, digital technologies, biotechnology, and microelectronics.
