The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, expressed deep condolences on the death of Grand Ayatollah Seyed Mousa Shubairi Zanjani, calling his passing a significant loss for leading Shia scholars of our time.
In a message of condolence published on Tuesday, Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the deceased Grand Ayatollah dedicated almost his entire life to studying knowledge, teaching, and scientific research. He received recognition from colleagues and teachers for the depth, accuracy, and rigor of his knowledge.
The Leader highlighted the distinguished theologian's mastery in various disciplines underlying the derivation of Islamic legal norms. It was noted that his lectures were characterized by extensive research, meticulous analysis, and strict verification, even when delivered to a relatively small group of students.
Furthermore, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that for more than three decades, many scholars relied on the profound knowledge of Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani, continuing his intellectual legacy in their own academic and educational work.
He also emphasized the late scholar's modesty and paternal demeanor towards students and colleagues, describing his presence as marked not only by the transmission of knowledge but also by a constant pursuit of learning.
The Leader stated that the departure of such an exceptional scholar has created a serious intellectual and scientific vacuum among leading contemporary Shia researchers, which, according to him, may be difficult to fill in the coming years.
Ayatollah Khamenei extended his condolences to Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), Islamic seminaries, as well as the students, admirers, and family of Grand Ayatollah Shobeiri Zanjani. He also prayed to Almighty God for the elevation of the deceased's spiritual status and for the bestowal of divine mercy and grace upon him.
