The Institute of Anthropology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and the Institute of Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of Vertebrates (IVPP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing signed an agreement on scientific cooperation, according to the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
This five-year agreement provides for joint research in areas such as Paleolithic archaeology, ancient DNA and proteins, paleoanthropology, and the study of ancient natural environments.
The cooperation program includes organizing expeditions in the territory of Uzbekistan, implementing joint research projects, preparing scientific publications, and holding conferences.
Furthermore, the agreement guarantees annual research internships lasting from one to two months in the laboratories of IVPP for researchers and doctoral students from the Institute of Anthropology of Uzbekistan.
Cooperation with IVPP, which is one of the leading scientific research institutions in the field of paleontology and paleoanthropology, is aimed at further developing anthropological research in Uzbekistan.
The agreement also provides for the introduction of modern research methods, strengthening the scientific base of young scientists, and expanding international scientific ties.
