Samsung unveils new Bespoke AI 2026 smart appliance line with AI features and app support

The launch of Googlebooks has been officially announced, a new category of notebooks that integrates Android technologies with ChromeOS functionalities. Although the name suggests in-house production, these new devices are not manufactured by Google, but rather by manufacturers such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo. The initial prices for these devices start at US$ 899 (equivalent to R$ 4,594 in direct conversion).

Google presented the Googlebook category in May during the event The Android Show: I/O Edition 2026. At that time, the company emphasized that the main focus of this novelty would be task execution using artificial intelligence, which remains the case currently.

Unlike the Chromebook family, which focuses on more affordable models, the Googlebook line requires more sophisticated hardware components to support AI applications, justifying its higher prices. Models available on the market are equipped with Intel and Qualcomm processors featuring an NPU with a capacity of 45 TOPS or higher, along with a minimum of 16 GB of high-performance RAM (LPDDR5X).

Additionally, these devices must have a minimum 256 GB SSD, a high-resolution touchscreen, and a battery capable of lasting at least 14 hours. Finally, the design must incorporate features such as a backlit keyboard, glass touchpad, and, most notably, the Glowbar, an LED bar located on the notebook lid that provides indicators about boot status, battery charge level, and interactions with Gemini.

Regarding software, Googlebooks are capable of running Android applications, many of which have been optimized for use with a mouse or touchpad. They come factory-equipped with native Google tools, such as Chrome, and include optimized versions of other programs, such as Adobe Photoshop and CapCut.

The specific operating system for this category, called Googlebook OS, will have guaranteed support from Google with functional and security updates for up to ten years. The pre-sale of the Googlebook line began in the United States, with the first shipment featuring prices ranging between US$ 899 and US$ 1,299.

Google is offering buyers of any model a 12-month subscription to Google AI Pro. Although the pre-sale has recently started, official sales are scheduled for October 4th in the United States, through retailers such as Google Store and Best Buy. However, there is no forecast for the official commercialization of the Googlebook line in Brazil.

American chemists have successfully developed a soluble battery made of magnesium and paper intended for use in medical implants.

Wax was used for the encapsulation process. Thanks to the ability to choose the type and thickness of this coating, the created devices can be configured to operate for different periods of time.

Tests conducted on pigs demonstrated that this battery does not cause damage to the gastrointestinal tract. These results were reported in the scientific journal Nature Chemical Engineering.

Engineers from Italy and Switzerland have succeeded in training a four-legged robot equipped with a manipulator on its back to move complexly configured furniture items across the floor surface without lifting them.

During simulation tests, the robot dog demonstrated high efficiency, successfully moving chairs of various shapes to a specified point in 94 percent of cases. When transitioning to real experiments, the robot was able to complete this task in 40 out of 58 attempts, moving chairs and a tripod table.
